11 Year Old Thai Girl -Wanraya Wannapong- Wins in China Drone Racing
8 June 2018
“WannaKick” your competitor’s butt in Racing Drone aircraft?
Well Wanraya Wannapong, the young Thai Lady (ONLY 11 years old-what!?!), doesn’t have to answer that question ever again!
Last month in China, she DOMINATED the field of over 5 dozen “Drone Race Pilots” on an International Certified course and took away the “Hardware” including the gold medals. This “cool under pressure pre-teen” simply stated about her win, “I am very happy,” she said afterwards. “I was nervous going into the final, especially as in the last minute my battery power died on my controller, so I had to plug in to a mains supply, that was nerve-wracking. But now I have won I am very happy.”
In Thai, Happy is translated to either Mii Khwamh Sukh or simply Sabai, and Sabai-Sabai is considered a “Peaceful or Calm Atmosphere” that most Thais seek often.
It seems Thai Aviation Prodigy Wanraya Wannapong knows, as some others do, that we should stay “Sabai-Sabai” (calm/peaceful at all times) and simply do our best and forget the rest! Awesome job Young Drone Jedi Thai Pilot! We are proud of you!!!
p.s. I recently accepted an Adjan (University Instructor position) at Rajamangala University of Technology Krungthep (Bangkok) to help train Thai and other Airline personnel – it is a true honor to continue to serve the Aviation community in this manner.
