Nobel Peace Prize (Chemistry) awarded today! The World’s smallest Machine

Today the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded today to 3 Chemists for making the “World’s Smallest Machine” – also known as “Molecular Machines” – The 3 Chemists are from France, originally the United Kingdom – yet now a professor at Northwestern University, and the final is from The Netherlands.  Their names are:

Jean-Pierre Sauvage
University of Strasbourg, France

Sir J. Fraser Stoddart
Northwestern University, Evanston, IL, USA

and

Bernard L. Feringa
University of Groningen, the Netherlands

“They are so small you can’t see them”… one of the researchers mention when asked about the smallest machines that the award was given for.

It’s an interesting time we are living in and in this humble Journalist’s opinion God is in everything – even technology – and we humans merely need to decide what technology we want to use with the “Free Will” we have to either improve or perhaps extend our mortal lives (a good example is the latest DNA or Genome therapy to actually CURE diseases & cancer!!!).  Yet, most importantly we should remember that technology is NOT a substitute for kindness or the true smallest machine that is capable of the biggest return, “L-O-V-E” – for regardless of what you believe in: Science, God, Jesus, Nature, Buddhism, Taoism, Baseball, Satanism, being an Agnostic trying to believe in nothing at all –  Love of your neighbor gets you the “most mileage” in life… 

For it’s been said, Doing small things with love is the atom of bravery

This humble journalist (and Dad, Aviator, author, artist, etc… just a simple polymath originally from Morehead, Kentucky, USA trying to make it through this mortal existence) agrees…
