Tesla to Set New World Record in New Category
At midnight January 29, 2014, a Tesla Motors team departed Los Angeles en route to New York City in two Model S sedans to mark the completion of the first cross country Supercharger route. They’re aiming to complete the journey within about three days and “set a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS achievement for lowest charge time for an electric vehicle traveling across the United States,” according to Tesla Motors.
TESLA MOTORS was founded in 2003 by a group of intrepid Silicon Valley engineers who set out to prove that electric vehicles could be awesome. They have the ROADSTER which hit the streets in early 2008 as a car with no equal. Four years later, over 2,300 Roadsters drive emissions-free in more than 37 countries.
MODEL S AND MODEL X are the next step in the “Secret Plan” to accelerate the world’s transition to electric mobility. Model S is now in production!
It’s good new to see yet another US company leading the way in technology and cool electric cars.
